Hi, we’re Together.
If you’ve been around a while, you’ll notice that things are looking a little different around here (and if you’re new: hello and welcome!).
Today’s the day we’re unveiling our new brand and name.
We launched as Women in Tech Club in 2019 as just one person with an idea. Now, almost two years later, we’ve grown to a team of almost 20 volunteers, and a community of over 5000 people. A lot has changed, and now that includes our name.
Women in Tech Club is now Together in tech.
Or just Together, when you’re feeling casual.
We’ve been working on our new brand since late last year. As part of the process we dove into our values, and our differentiators: what really makes us different.
Getting into all of it made it clear that we were moving in a slightly different direction from when we launched as Women in Tech Club two years ago.
We realised that thing that makes us different, as far as tech communities go, is our focus on the inner work — emotional intelligence, soft skills, the big questions that come up as you work and live.
So we’re going all in on that: creating a space for people to connect.
With themselves. With their people. And with everything else they need to create the careers and lives they really want for themselves.
And that includes people of all genders. We still love, champion and celebrate women — our founder is a woman, and our team is 99% women. We’re still working towards gender diversity and equity in tech — and in the world.
Because what we want is a community — and ultimately a tech industry — that looks like the world we want to live in. Diverse, inclusive, empathetic, positive and connected.
And we’re doing it together.
Over and over again as we talked to the people in our community, that idea of togetherness came up. A sense of belonging. Feeling welcome, right from the first time you attend one of our events (even if you don’t know anyone there). Feeling like you don’t need to “put on a face” when you join us.
A sense of positivity and connection that you can feel — even over zoom.
So hello, we’re Together.
And we’d love for you to join us in creating this community.
Find yourself. Find your people. Find your way. (Emphasis on your.) — Join Together in tech
